Insurance Coverage
At Upstairs Downstairs Moving, we prioritize the safety and protection of your belongings throughout the moving process. We partner with reputable insurance providers to offer you peace of mind, including The Westco Company for liability coverage and Travelersfor cargo insurance.
We provide limited liability insurance with three basic coverage options:
- Standard Coverage: For all moves with guaranteed pricing, you are automatically covered for a total loss or damage at a rate of 60 cents per pound per article. This includes a maximum liability of $2,500 per load.
- Declared Value Coverage: You can declare the estimated total value of your shipment in your own handwriting on your bill of lading. Our estimator will explain the terms and limitations of this policy, which ensures your belongings are covered while in transit.
- All-Risk Insurance: For additional peace of mind, you can contact your own insurance representative for an 'all risk' policy, which typically covers your belongings for a period of three days.
Additionally, Upstairs Downstairs Moving carries $5 million worth of Certificate of Liability (C.O.I.) Building Coverage to protect your property during moves. If your building management requires proof of insurance, we’re happy to provide a C.O.I. at no additional cost.
